In Focus : The Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation (TUSEF)
During August 27-28, the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation (TUSEF), or Fulbright, co-organized the workshop for teachers from English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) Program. This project is one of three MFA-funded Fulbright activities this year.
The workshop aims at “training the trainer” by focusing on developing language skills as well as cross-cultural communication for young generation of teachers from 22 schools under Fulbright’s ETA Program. Through group activities, the workshop also provided the participants a platform to exchange experiences and helped strengthen the school networks for future cooperation.
Speakers for the workshop are scholars specialized in education, language training, and cross-cultural issues. Director-General of Department of American and South Pacific Affairs along with Director of North America Division also shared an overview of the Ministry’s missions and its roles in supporting education, including the cooperation with Fulbright.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs values the importance of human resource development in education, be it teachers, researchers, or students. This cooperation with Fulbright underscores the Ministry’s commitment. It is a part of the long-standing cooperation on education between Thailand and
The United States. This cooperation is not limited to government-to-government channel, but also between the peoples of the two countries and helps enhance People-to-People Connectivity. The Ministry will continue to support Fulbright Foundation with a view building the capacity of educators and further strengthening Thai-U.S. bilateral relations.
