Embassy & Consulate News : Thai Consul-General to Osaka attends Japan Foundation’s 4th Japanese Language Training Scholarship Program Completion Ceremony and Farewell Party

                    On 24 October 2019, Consul-General Krit Tankanarat attended the Completion Ceremony and Farewell Party of Japan Foundation’s 4th Japanese language training scholarship program for 14 Thai highschool teachers at the Japan Language Centre, Kansai. On that occasion, Consul-General Krit congratulated and thanked Japan Foundation for the course’s success and Japan Foundation’s role in promoting better understanding and cultural exchange between Thailand and Japan through the study of Japanese language. He also commended the Thai teachers for the completion of the course, whereby the knowledge and experience gained will enable them to develop their Japanese teaching skills beneficial to their students.

                   Japanese language training scholarship program is the cooperation between Japan Foundation and the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education of Thailand. The aim is to develop Japanese language and teaching skills for Thai highschool teachers who teach Japanese as a second language. Selection is done countrywide. The course is divided into 3 parts, namely (1) one day training at the Japan Foundation in Bangkok (2) 4 weeks training at Japan Language Center, Kansai in Japan and (3) Japanese language level N2 examination in December 2019 in Bangkok. Aside from the Japanese language training, Thai teachers also had the opportunity to learn Japanese culture and do activities with Japanese host families.
