In accordance with the Royal Thai Government’s policy, “Thai Kitchen to the World,” the event aimed to promote the standard in preparing authentic Thai dishes in hotels and restaurants in Nepal. The Embassy invited a group of Thai chefs from Suan Dusit International Culinary School to demonstrate how to cook 4 popular Thai dishes – Golden Cups, Tom Yam Koong, Som Tam and Sen Jan Pad Koong. The event was very well received by 100 participants, the majority of which were chefs from all leading hotels and restaurants in Nepal, local media, and general public. The organization of this event was a solid indication of the increasing popularity of Thai cuisine in Nepal. Therefore, promoting better understanding of Thai cuisine and the original cooking method was another success in propagating stronger presence of Thai cuisine in this country.
