    The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Dubai office and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, Dubai office jointly hosted an IFTAR reception on 28 May 2018 during 19.00 - 21.00 hrs, at Tong Thai Restaurant, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai. The purpose of this event was to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and strengthen its existing relations between Thai authorities, Dubai offices and local authorities concerned.

    Mobile Consular Services to Gua Musang
    On 11-12 May 2018, the Deputy Consul-General, Acting Consul-General to Kota Bharu leaded the Royal Thai Consulate-General’s Mobile Consular Services Team to Gua Musang in order to provide necessary consular services as well as to visit the Thai community in Gua Musang, the State of Kelantan. During this annual activity which was organised at the Kamarul Tom Yum restaurant, Pulai Sub-district, Gua Musang, The Royal Thai Consulate-General’s Mobile Consular Services Team provided consular services namely passport issuance, civil registration along with consular consultations. The Royal Thai Consulate-General was satisfied that the Thai nationals in Gua Musang were actively participating in the activity.

    Royal Thai Embassy donate ๕๕,๐๐๐ ZAR to Mercy House
    On 31 May 2018, Mr.Paisit Boonparlit, Charge d’ affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria, handed over a donation of 55,000 Rands or equivalent to 143,698.50 Thai Bahts to Mercy House through Sister Colleen Wilkinson, the Director, and Sister Mary Mmushi, the Assistant Director at the organization. The donation is part of the celebrations of the 25 year Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and South Africa in 2018 as well as to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela. This donation is also part of the continuous effort by the Royal Thai Embassy in supporting Mercy House’s activities.

    Singapore International Para Cycling Cup 2018
    On 27 May 2018, H.E. Mr. Manopchai Vongphakdi, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Singapore attended a Victory Ceremony for Singapore International Para-cycling Cup 2018 and presented a medal to athletes for Hand Cycling 10.2 KM (6 laps) in which cyclists from Thailand won the Silver and Gold medals. H.E. Manopchai also hosted lunch to congratulate the Thai athletes and staff.

Mr. Manopchai Vongphakdi, Ambassador designate of Thailand to Singapore, together with officers from Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore, visited Thai workers at Tuas View Dormitory and to check on the living conditions of Thai workers residing in this dormitory. The event was co-sponsored by the Office of Labour Affairs, Singapore.

    Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu organized activities on Visakha Bucha Day
    On 29 May 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy organized activities on Visakha Bucha Day at Sirikit Vihar, Kirtipur. H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal, together with Embassy’s officials, representatives of Thai Airways International and local Nepali people, approximately 60 people in total, participated in religious activities including chanting, giving offering to the monks, and circumambulation. These activities were organized with an aim of encouraging the Thai community in Nepal to reflect on three important events that took place on Visakha Bucha Day which are the birth, the enlightenment and the passing (nibbana) of Lord Buddha as well as strengthening the synergy of the Thai community in supporting the promotion of Buddhism.

    2018 International Day of Vesak 1 May 2018, General Assembly Hall, United Nations Headquarters, New York
    On 1 May 2018, H.E. Mr. Vitavas Srivihok, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United Nations, co-hosted the 2018 International Vesak Day Commemorative Event, with the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations, in the General Assembly Hall, United Nations Headquarters, New York. The event was participated by the President of the General Assembly, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives, high-level representatives of United Nations Member States, and Honourable Monks. Participants gave their best wishes to one another on this auspicious occasion as well as reflected and drew inspirations from the teachings of Lord Buddha, which remain valid in today’s context. Participants widely acknowledged that Lord Buddha’s teachings are still relevant and closely resonate the principles and the work of the United Nations, which include peace, compassion, human rights and human dignity, non-violence, leading to peaceful coexistence amongst humanity themselves and with nature around them.
