    On 9 March 2018 at 18.30 hrs., 39 Government officials and students of the Joint Staff College Class of 59 led by Air Vice Marshal Kramol Thongpramool, Deputy Commandant of the Joint Staff College, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of Thailand and received a briefing at the Ambassador’s residence. On this occasion, Ambassador also hosted a dinner in honour of the delegation.

    On 29 March 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy organized the Australia-Thai Association (Canberra) – ATA and Thai Students BBQ Dinner 2018 at the Sala Thai. This is the 4th consecutive year of hosting this event. Its objective is to provide the Embassy’s officials, ATA members and Thai students from ANU, UC, and ADFA with opportunity to mingle and get to know each other better as well as welcome the Thai new students who have just arrived Canberra. The Embassy hopes that the friendship developed from this event will lead to more joint activities and cooperation among Thai students, ATA members, and the Embassy in the future.

    On 2 April 2018, H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal on the occasion of H.E. Mr. Gyawali’s new appointment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal. Both sides discussed their cordial and close diplomatic relations which has entered the 59th year, exchanges of high-level visits as well as preparation for the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Nepal in 2019. Ambassador Tanskul also mentioned that this year, the Royal Thai Government is planning to support UNDP and IOM USD 2 million per organization on their post-earthquake livelihood recovery and the building community resilience projects in areas affected by the earthquake in 2015. The Royal Thai Government will also provide USD 1.49 million to the Government of Nepal to restore the Mahadev Temple in Kathmandu. Furthermore, both sides discussed the strengthening of cooperation in education, opportunities in trade, investment and tourism as well as the organization of the 5th Joint Commission Meeting between Thailand and Nepal. This discussion took place in a timely manner as it helps to boost the dynamism of diplomatic relations and friendship between the two countries after the establishment of the new Government of Nepal.

    On 14 March 2018, Ambassadors of ASEAN Countries to Poland paid a joint courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Jacek Czaputowicz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The attended ASEAN Ambassadors were H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, as the Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Warsaw (ACW), H.E. Ms. Patricia Ann Villar Paez, Ambassador of the Philippines, H.E. Mr. Peter Frans Gontha, Ambassador of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Vu Dang Dung, Ambassador of Vietnam, together with non-resident Ambassadors, that is H.E. Mr. Sithong Chitnhothinh, Ambassador of Lao PDR, H.E. Mrs. Rakiah Haji Abdul Lamit Hamid, Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Mrs. Yin Yin Myint, Ambassador of Myanmar, H.E. Mrs. Touch Sopharath Ambassador of Cambodia and H.E. Dr. Loo Choon Yong, Ambassador of Singapore, as well as Mrs. Nur Azura Binti Abd Karim, Charge d’affaires of Malaysia in Warsaw. They discussed and exchanged views and perspectives on potentials and prospects of political and economic cooperation between Poland and ASEAN member countries, more strengthened educational and academic cooperation, as well as the promotion of people-to-people contact. This meeting is considered a historic event since it was the first time that all 10 Heads of Mission of ASEAN countries to Poland were present and paid a joint courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

    On 7 March 2018, H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Tadeusz Koscinski, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, on the occasion of her assumption of duty. They discussed and exchanged views on the economic and development policies and potentials of the two countries which complement and contribute to more strengthened economic ties. In addition, due to the fact that Poland and Thailand are food and agricultural-based economy and share in common in terms of geographical location as a gateway to each other’s region, there are still a lot of potentials to increase bilateral trade and investment between the two countries. Ambassador Sahussarungsi also gave some information on the policy of Thailand 4.0 and 10 targeted industries, as well as the development of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, which aim to attract foreign investment and correspond to the current Polish policy to expand overseas markets to ASEAN region under the campaign “GO ASEAN”.

    The Royal Thai Embassy together with the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General in Melbourne organized the 15th Thai Culture and Food Festival at Federation Square, Melbourne between 17-18 March 2018. The cultural performances of this year’s Festival was supported by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand. His Excellency Mr. Vira Rojpojchanara, Minister of Culture of Thailand also attended the event.
