    Director of National Innovation Agency of Thailand lead Thai business groups to pay a courtesy call on Ambassador of Thailand to Poland
    On 22 June 2018, H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of Thailand, welcomed Mr. Pun-Arj Chairatana, Director of National Innovation Agency (NIA), Ministry of Science and Technology, who led the delegates from NIA and a group of Thai entrepreneurs in SMEs and Startups business, totally 22 persons, to pay a courtesy call on Ambassador of Thailand to Poland at the Royal Thai Embassy on the occasion of their participation in the Invention contest and B2B meeting during the International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG 2018 from 20-21 June 2018 in Katowice, Poland. Innovation products/services nominated by participating Thai companies received many awards in this contest including ATAPY Co., Ltd. who won the International Grand Prix INTARG 2018 and Platinum Award for their innovative wearable item for elderly health care. During the meeting with Ambassador of Thailand, the delegation received a briefing by the Ambassador on the overview of Poland in terms of political, economic and social aspects, which included policies on innovation and technology, as well as the bilateral relations between Thailand and Poland. Besides, they discussed on the prospect of bilateral cooperation on innovation since both Poland and Thailand move toward the similar goal to be a value-based economy driven by innovation.

    The Opening Ceremony of the Training of Muay Thai Trainers and Referees Workshop.
    The Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with Nepal National Muay Thai Association (NNMA) organized Training of Muay Thai Trainers and Referees Workshop during 3 – 5 July 2018. The opening ceremony on 3 July 2018 was presided by Honorable Mr. Jagat Bahadur Sunar, Minister for Youth and Sports of Nepal and His Excellency Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal. The 3-day workshop aimed to advance Muay Thai techniques as well as Muay Thai rules and regulations among Muay Thai trainers and referees in Nepal. The training also played important role to promote Thai’s culture and strengthen people-to-people relationship between the two countries. There were 80 Nepali Muay Thai trainers from 18 Muay Thai clubs in Nepal participating in the workshop.

    On 2 July 2018, Mr. Munin Paniswasdi, Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka, and his spouse, attended the 8th Annual Forum of Thai Club of Japan on Why Thailand Charms Us “Chiang Mai” at Saji Keizo Memorial Hall, Osaka University Nakanoshima Center. The Forum was moderated by Professor Osamu Akagi, President of Thai Club Japan, with Professor Tatsuhiko Kawashima and Professor Yasuhiro Takai as the panelists. Around 120 Japanese participants attended the Forum.

    Thailand-Morocco Thai Boxing Friendship Cup and Thai Boxing Workshop
    The Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat, in collaboration with the Royal Moroccan Federation of Boxing Muay Thai Savate and Assimilated Sports, has recently organized events to promote Thai Boxing in Morocco, namely: Thailand-Morocco Thai Boxing Friendship Cup and Thai Boxing Workshop for Moroccan Thai Boxing Trainers. These activities are part of the Embassy’s strategy to promote Thai Boxing in Morocco in the year 2017 after the Ambassador’s Cup Thai Boxing Tournament on 17 – 18 March 2018 at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

    On 30 June 2018, Mr. Jak Sangchai, Charge d’ Affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy, attended the opening ceremony of the European Muaythai Championships at the Tipsport Arena, Prague. The Charge d’ Affaires delivered a speech welcoming athletes from 34 countries, who participate in the event during 1 – 7 July 2018 and highlighting the deep relationship between Muaythai, Thailand and Thai people. He also informed the participants about the vision of the Thai Government for Muaythai to be included in the Olympic Games.

    On 24 June 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy, Islamabad, has organized a career counselling session for Thai Muslim students who are currently studying in Pakistan. The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Pornpop Uampidhaya, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan. On this occasion, three guest speakers namely RADM Somkeart Ponprayoon, RTN, Deputy Secretary General of Southern Border Provinces Centre, Dr. Abdulkorday Yusoh , Managing Director of Siroros Hospital (Yala Province) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukree Langputeh, Deputy Rector for International Relations and Alumni of Fatoni University (Yala Province) have been invited to give a special lecture to the Thai students on how to choose their future career which will especially enable economic development in their hometowns.

It was held by the Los Angeles Department of City Planning, the Thai Community Development Center, and ACT LA. There were about 30 people from the Thai Community who attended the event, including members of the Thai Town Council.

    On 20 June 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat organized the ceremony to Award the Royal Decoration of Commander of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand by His Majesty the King of Thailand to Mr. Younes Laraqui, the Honorary Consul of Thailand in Casablanca, at the Residence of the Ambassador of Thailand. The ceremony was presided by H.E. Mr. Suphorn Pholmani, Ambassador of Thailand to Morocco; and in attendance to the ceremony were the Ambassador and Chargé d’Affairs of Embassies of ASEAN Countries in Rabat, high-ranking civil servants from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, President and Executive Members of the Thai Students’ Association in Morocco, Moroccan private sector, members of Mr. Laraqui’s family, and diplomats from the Royal Thai Embassy.

    Ambassador of Thailand lead the Polish Delegation to THAIFEX – World of food Asia 2018
    During 28-31 May 2018, H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of Thailand to Poland, led the Polish delegation to visit Thailand. The delegation which comprises Mrs. Magdalena Jozefecka, Director of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Katarzyna Kwiecien, Director of Department of Export Support, National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR), Dr. Agnieszka Wierzbicka, Associate Professor, Department of Food Design and Technology, Faculty of Human Nutrition and Consumer Sciences, Warsaw University of Life Science (SGGW) and Mrs. Anita Błaszczak Journalist, Rzeczpospolita Newspaper were invited to visit THAIFEX – World of Food Asia 2018 which was held between 29 May – 2 June 2018 at Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. They also participated as guest speakers in the seminar on Building Knowledge of International Trade for Thai Foods which was organized as a part of THAIFEX trade fair by the New Economy Academy (NEA), Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce. Apart from THAIFEX, Ambassador Sahussarungsi brought them to visit and receive a briefing at Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office where they learnt more about Thailand’s flagship project of special economic zone in the Eastern Provinces of Thailand and paid a site visit to Food Innopolis which was regarded as a comprehensive R&D solution provider for food innovation at Thailand Science Park in Pathum Thani Province. The Polish delegates showed lots of attention and commended on Thailand’s potential as an important world’s food production base including progress and development plan Thailand pursued to promote competitiveness and quality of food industry. Since both Thailand and Poland share in common strong capacity and potentials in agricultural and food sectors, as well as goals and policies which accommodate and complement to each other, opportunities in our bilateral trade and investment are still plenty and full of prospect, as well as the sharing and exchanges of knowledge and technology in the sectors of mutual interest.
