    On 20 February 2017, His Excellency Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, met with Honourable Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, to hand over a cheque at the amount of 8,496,176.72 Sri Lankan rupees (or approximately 2,000,000 baht) which is the donation from the Royal Thai Government as a disaster relief from the upcoming drought in Sri Lanka, particularly the expected shortage of food and water in the next 1-2 months.

    Thai Food Cooking Class with Romanian Wine Tasting
    On 10 February 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Prahova co-organized "Thai Food Cooking Class with Romanian Wine Tasting" at Athenee Palace Hilton hotel. In the event, there was a Thai food demonstration and a display of Thai food products in order to promote Thai food products in Romania. The event was attended by over 100 people including HRH Princess Maria of Romania, members of diplomatic corps and spouses, dignitaries from Romanian government authorities, private sector, and local media.

    On Sunday, 12th February 2017, Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver presided over the merit making ceremony on Makha Bucha Day at Yanviriya Buddhist Temple in Vancouver, BC. On this occasion, members of Thai community and their families from Vancouver and nearby cities participated in the ceremony, which included praying as well as the offering of food and various necessities to the monks for good merit making.

    Launching Ceremony of the Thai – Myanmar Joint Survey Team for Production of Orthophoto Maps
    Thailand and Myanmar have achieved another milestone in their joint efforts to establish a clear boundary between the two countries. On 16 - 18 January 2016, technical officers of both sides met in Kawthaung, Tanintharyi Region, Myanmar, to launch the production of orthophoto maps of their border areas, which will serve as an important tool in the boundary survey and demarcation works.

    On 8 February 2017, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver organized Thailand Corner at Wood Buffalo Regional Public Library in Fort McMurray, Alberta. To officially open the Thailand Corner, Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, gave welcoming remarks and jointly cut the ribbon with Ms. Angela Betts (on behalf of MP Divid Yurdiga), Ms. Carol Christian (on behalf of MLA Bryan Jean), Her Worship Melissa Blake (Mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo), Ms. Monica Domingues (Wood Buffalo Regional Library Board Chair), Councillor Allan Vinni, and Ms. Melissa Flett (Director of Wood Buffalo Regional Library) This was followed by the books presentation ceremony from the Consul-General to Ms. Monica Domingues, who represented the Library.

    Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver Promoted Education and Research Cooperation with University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada
    On 26 January 2017, Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand, accompanied by Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Deputy Consul-General, met with Dr. Dan Ryan, Acting President, and Vice President of Academic and Provost of University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), and the executive team to promote education and research cooperation between Thailand and Western Canada. The two sides agreed to jointly explore the possibility of establishing a memorandum of understanding, organizing an exchange program for professors, researchers and students, and setting up a dual degree program or an online learning program between UNBC and a Thai university, etc. On this occasion, the university also arranged a visit to the UNBC’s BioEnergy Plant for the Consul-General. This plant generated approximately 85% of an annual energy needed by the university from clean energy of steam power.

    On 27 January 2017, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver organized Thailand Corner at Prince George Public Library in British Columbia. To officially open the Thailand Corner, Ms. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver, gave welcoming remarks and jointly cut the ribbon with Ms. Tamara Davidson (representative of MP Todd Doherty), Minister Shirley Bond (Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training and Minister Responsible for Labour), Minister Mike Morris (Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General), Mr. Lyn Hall (Mayor of Prince George), Elder Kenora Stewart (representative of Chief Dominic Frederick of Lheidli T'enneh First Nation), Ms. Carolynne Burkholder-James (Board Chair of Prince George Public Library), Ms. Janet Marren (Chief Librarian), and Dr. Dan Ryan (Acting President/Interim Vice President, Academic & Provost of University of Northern British Columbia). This was followed by the books presentation ceremony from the Consul-General to Ms. Carolynne Burkholder-James, who represented Prince George Public Library. Among more than 60 participants to this event were important Canadian politicians at both federal, state and local levels from Prince George, community leaders, local businessmen, students, and the public. Everybody expressed deep appreciation for the donation of books by the Consulate-General and the many interesting activities organized. Activities during the Thailand Corner comprised the following 1) the display of books on various aspects of Thailand such as Thai novel, Thai boxing or Muay Thai, Thai cuisine, Thai architecture, and children tales about Thailand 2) the display of Thai products and handicrafts 3) the exhibit on Thai tourism 4) the demonstration video on Thai dessert 5) the tasting session for Thai food 6) the Thai traditional performance 7) the demonstration of Thai fruit and vegetable carving and 8) the Q&A session about Thailand.
