    Thailand women’s national volleyball team competed in the first round of the Women’s World Championship Japan ๒๐๑๘ in Kobe, Japan. On the said occasion, Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka, along with staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka and members of Team Thailand in Osaka joined Thai people in Kansai in supporting the Thai women’s national volleyball team who succeeded in advancing to the second round of the Women’s World Championship Japan ๒๐๑๘ during ๗-๑๑ October ๒๐๑๘ in Osaka.

    Royal Thai Embassy in Prague jointly hosted the ASEAN Day ๒๐๑๘ Reception
    On ๒๔ September ๒๐๑๘, the Royal Thai Embassy in Prague jointly hosted the reception on the occasion of the commemoration of the ๕๑st anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines at the Italian Institute in Prague, together with other three ASEAN Embassies in the Czech Republic, i.e. Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Embassy of Malaysia and Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Ambassadors and Chargé d'affaires of all five ASEAN Embassies, on behalf of the ASEAN Committee in Prague, cordially welcomed friends of ASEAN from diplomatic corps, representatives from government and business sectors in the Czech Republic of around ๘๐ people at the reception.

    From ๒๑ to ๒๔ September ๒๐๑๘, the Royal Thai Embassy cooperated with Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand to organise the Mental Health Promotion Project to improve the quality of life of Thai People in Sri Lanka. The Embassy has invited ๑ Thai psychologist namely Dr. Terdsak Detkong from Department of Mental Health to visit Thai community in Sri Lanka.

    During ๒๘ - ๓๐ September ๒๐๑๘, the Royal Thai Embassy organized the Thai Gastronomy Festival at Kubitschek Plaza Hotel in Brasília. Before the event, all dishes presented in the festival were demonstrated to the hotel’s chefs by chefs from Thai Ambassador’s Residence. The festival successfully promoted Thai gastronomy in Brasília.

    On ๒๔ September ๒๐๑๘, the Royal Thai Embassy successfully promoted Thai gastronomy in Curitiba by demonstrating how to cook some authentic Thai dishes to the chefs of Lagundri, one of the most famous Asian restaurants in Curitiba, and co-organized the Thai gastronomy festival by providing a special authentic Thai menu for the clients. On this occasion, the Ambassador hosted a Thai dinner for high-level authorities of the State of Paraná.

    In close collaboration with three Thai leading banks which have regional offices in Shanghai, namely Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank and Siam Commercial Bank, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai has successfully established “the 1st Bangkok-Shanghai Economic Conference” which took place at Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao on 19 September 2018. The conference is an advanced economic and financial mechanism which provide a platform for leading Thai-Chinese public and private sectors, and development partners from Bangkok to Shanghai, a sister city, to interact, exchange views and make recommendations on how to concretize cooperation in trade, investment and finance.

    The Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra congratulates the Thai–Australian Association of Queensland (TAAQ) and the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate General in Brisbane for their success in organizing the 6th Brisbane Thai Festival at Roma Street, Parkland on September 16. The event was well attended by dignitaries including Her Excellency Miss Chutima Bunyapraphasara, Deputy Minister of Commerce of Thailand, Honourable Stirling Hinchliffe MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Councillor Adrian Schrinner, Deputy Mayor of Brisbane, and Councillor Norm Wyndham, Councillor for McDowall. The opening ceremony was held in a Thai traditional way: a Buddhist chant and prayer in front of Buddha image, led by Buddhist monks from Wat Thai Buddharam. Ambassador Nantana Sivakua then presided over the opening ceremony by striking three times at the gong, the Thai style of a ritual beginning. All VIP guests were invited to do the same.

    On ๑๒-๑๓ September ๒๐๑๘, Mrs. Busaya Mathelin, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand led the Thai delegation to attend the ๑๕th Australia-Thailand Senior Officials Talks (SOTs) hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Canberra. The said meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Frances Adamson, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. At the meeting, both sides discussed regional security issues, cooperation between Thailand and Australia both bilaterally and multilaterally as well as the prospect of Thailand and Australia cooperation during the upcoming ASEAN Chairmanship of Thailand in ๒๐๑๙. The Thai side noted Australia’s intention to render full support during Thailand’s ASEAN chairmanship.
