    “ASEAN Night” with the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait – ACK at Jumeirah Mesillah Hotel
    On 27 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy co-hosted “ASEAN Night” with the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait – ACK at Jumeirah Mesillah Hotel, Kuwait, to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of the foundation of ASEAN. H.E. Khaled Sulaiman Al-Jarallah, Deputy Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait, as the Guest of Honour, delivered a speech emphasizing the strong relationship between ASEAN and the GCC. The event featured DVD presentation on ASEAN, the visit to ASEAN booths, where ASEAN cultural and tourism materials were displayed and exhibited, ASEAN Embassies’ cultural performances and showcase of ASEAN traditional costumes. Apart from local food, each ASEAN member countries served the guests with traditional food and for Thailand, Prawn Tom Yum and Pad Thai were a big hit. There were around 400 guests attended the event, among them were diplomatic corps, high ranking officials from Kuwait and private sectors.

Foz do Iguaçu is one of Brazil's most-visited tourist destinations located on the border of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.

    The Royal Thai Embassy organized a farewell party in honour of His Excellency Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi and Mrs. Wannipa Isarabhakdi on occasion of the completion of term as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Canada as well as retiring from the Foreign services. The Embassy’s officials and staff joined in to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Ambassador for his long services and remarkable contributions to the country.

    The Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon organized “Roving Dhamma Project” in northern and central part of Portugal
    During 22-23 September 2017 the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon organized “Roving Dhamma Project” in northern and central part of Portugal by inviting 3 Buddhist monks from Budismo Theravada da Floresta in Ericeira to preach and teach meditation to Thai community. The first session was held in Porto on 22 September 2017. There were about 20 attendants comprising of Thai professor and students from the university of Porto, as well as Thai nationals residing in Porto. The second session was held in Torres Vedras, on 23 September 2017, attended by around 60 Thai labours who work with Lino Farm.

    On 27 September 2017, Miss Vimon Kidchob, Ambassador of Thailand and Miss Pratana Disyatat, Minister Counsellor, attended the Opening Ceremony of “Thai House” at Moesgaard Museum, Aarhus, upon the completion of a major renovation. The ceremony was attended by more than 50 people from relevant parties including the Royal Thai Embassy, Moesgaard Museum and Thai communities in Aarhus and nearby areas.

    ASEAN Committee in Madrid visited Duran Jewelry Shop and Intergift & Madrid Joja Fairs 2017 in Madrid
    On 20 September 2017, Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain in collaboration with Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Madrid organized a program for ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) to visit Duran Jewelry Shop in Madrid, a well known jewelry producer and seller which has imported precious stone from Thailand more than 40 years. The ACM was welcomed by Mr. Juan Miguel Albarracin, President of Duran Group. After that ACM proceeded to participate in the opening ceremony of Intergift & Madrid Jewelry Fairs 2017 at IFEMA, which was officially opened by Ms. Engracia Hidalgo, President of the Board of IFEMA and Counsellor of Economy, Employment and Finance of the Community of Madrid. The ACM took this opportunity to visit booth of various countries including Duran Booth and Indonesian Booth.

  • The 5th Thai Kitchen to the World in Hobart
    The 5th Thai Kitchen to the World in Hobart
    On 19 September 2017, Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, attended the “Thai Street Food” competition and reception at TasTAFE – Drysdale Campus. In this connection, Ambassador and Mrs. Jenny Gale, Secretary of the Tasmanian Department of Education, kindly gave opening remarks. This event is the highlight of this year’s Thai Kitchen to the World programme. Out of hundreds of students who participated in this programme, only twenty students from Rosny College, Claremont College, Hobart College, and Huonville High School were selected to participate in the cooking competition. The attendants of approximately 200 will taste their cooking and vote on the most favourite dishes. The school with the most popular vote will win 2 round-trip tickets (Sydney-Bangkok-Sydney) from Thai Airways International to continue their Thai Cooking Class in Thailand.

    On 12 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy together with the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, Office of Thai Defense Attache, Team Thailand in Jakarta and Thai community in Indonesia organized the Flag Raising Ceremony to celebrate Thai National Flag Day and commemorate the centenary of the Thai National Flag (which is called "Thong Trairong" in Thai language) at the Embassy.
