    “Taste of Thailand: Thai Street Food Festival”
    On Wednesday 20th September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen organized a “Taste of Thailand: Thai Street Food Festival” event at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence, attended by some 170 people consisting of members of the diplomatic corps, Danish ministries, business and media. The festival presented several “Thai Street Food,” namely Pad Thai Noodles (Pad-Thai), Fried Mussels with Scrambled Eggs (Hoi-Tod), Papaya Salad (Som-Tam), Grilled Chicken with Sticky Rice (Gai-Yang-Khaw-Nieuw), Green Curry (Gang-Kiew-Wan), Fried Tofu (Tao-Hu-Tod), Fried Spring Rolls (Por-Pieer-Tod), Massamun Curry (Gang-Massaman), Grilled Meat Balls (Look-Chin-Ping), Grilled Skewed Pork with Sticky Rice (Moo-Ping-Kaow-Nieuw), Fried Fish Paste (Tod-Man-Pla), Beef Noodles (Kauy-Tiaw-Nua) and Thai desserts, namely Thai Coconut Pudding, (Kha-Nom-Krok), Thai Layered Jelly (Kha-Nom-Chan) and Sweet Sticky Rice with Thai Custard (Khao-Nheaw-Sang-Kha-Yha). In addition, there was also performance of Thai traditional dances, Thai fruit carving demonstration and a lucky draw with Thai Airways’ round-trip tickets to Phuket.

    On 10 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw organized the event “Thai Festival 2017” under the theme “Celebrating 45 Years of the Thai-Polish Diplomatic Relations” at the Vistula River Boulevard, of which Mrs. Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, Mayor of Warsaw also kindly accepted to be an honorary patron of this event.

    Ambassador Songsak Saicheua Presents the Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Slovenia
    On 20 September 2017 at the Presidential Palace in Ljubljana, H.E. Mr. Songsak Saicheua presented to H.E. Mr. Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia, the Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Slovenia with residence in Vienna.On this occasion, both sides discussed the cordial bilateral relations between Thailand and Slovenia which have reached 25 years in 2017. President Pahor expressed his interest to promote and enhance bilateral cooperation in particular in the fields of trade and investment. President Pahor also conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty the King and the peoples of Thailand.

    On 13 September 2017, H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand presented Letters of Credence to H.E. Mr. Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland. The ceremony took place at Belvedere Palace where the Ambassador inspected the troops of Guard of Honour. Ambassador was warmly welcomed by the President and his team, and had a friendly and fruitful private discussion. After the ceremony at Belvedere Palace, Ambassador laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers.

    Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu organized Thai Festival 2017 at Ambassador’s Residence
    On 16 September 2017, Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu organized Thai Festival 2017 at Ambassador’s Residence. The event aimed to promote Thailand in all dimensions through Thai food stalls from Thai restaurants in Kathmandu, imported Thai product and handicraft stalls, Thai massage corner, as well as fruit carving show. To showcase Thai culture, the Embassy also invited a group of Thai performers from Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, Chiang Mai to perform at the event. H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal as well as H.E. Mr. Shanker Das Bairagi, Foreign Secretary of Nepal presided over the opening ceremony at which, diplomatic corps, high-level officials, representatives of Nepali private sector and media were also present. More than 1,000 people attended the event throughout the day. Thai Festival 2017 this year is therefore an important tool that helps strengthen the bonds between Thailand and Nepal and deepen the people-to-people relations between the two countries.

    Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal presented financial assistance from the Royal Thai Government to the Government of Nepal for relief of floods and landslides in Nepal
    On Thursday 21 September 2017, H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal presented financial assistance of 2 million baht (6,144,393.24 Nepali Rupee) to Honorable Mr. Girirajmani Pokharel, Minister of Health of Nepal, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, as part of Thailand’s contribution to the Government of Nepal for natural disaster relief of floods, landslide and people suffering from the incident which occurred during the second week of August 2017. This financial support reaffirms Thailand’s friendship and commitment in providing assistance to Nepal and helps to strengthen the already excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.

    On 7 September 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Argentina held the Fourth Planning Committee Meeting on South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Buenos Aires. The Thai delegation was headed by Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency and the Argentine delegation was headed by Ms. Ana Ciuti, Director General of International Cooperation. The purpose of the meeting is to review and consider the cooperation projects between Thailand and Argentina.

    As part of the ASEAN Film Festival in Ottawa, and in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the 40th anniversary of ASEAN-Canada Dialogue Relations, as well as Canada’s 150th birthday, the Royal Thai Embassy organized the screenings of two Thai films, “The Teacher’s Diary” and “The Protector 2”, at the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa on Sunday, 17 September 2017.
