    The 1st ASEAN Familay Day in Madrid at the Residence of Indonesian Ambassador to Spain
    On 16 September 2017, H.E. Mrs. Rattikul Chansuriya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain led officials from Team Thailand in Spain together with their local staffs and Thai students in Spain to participate in the 1st ASEAN Family Day in Spain, organized by ASEAN Committee in Madrid at the Residence of the Indonesian Ambassador to Spain. This activity was aimed not only to enhance relationship between the people of ASEAN countries in Spain but also to raise awareness on the establishment of ASEAN Community. There were about 200 participants from five ASEAN countries in Spain and their Spanish friends.

    ASEAN Committee in Madrid visited Vigo, Galicia
    On 17 September 2017, ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM) was invited by Indonesian Ambassador to Spain to visit Vigo, an important maritime industry, fishery, tourism and service hub in Galicia, and participated in launching ceremony of the Navy Training Ship of Indonesia built in Vigo, "KRI Bima Suci" which will be used as a joint training ship for ASEAN Navy Cadets in the future. Mr. Abel Caballero, Mayor of Vigo was the guest of honour on the said event. This training ship left Vigo Port in the afternoon of September 18 and will arrive Jakarta within the next two months.

    On 19 September 2017, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, in collaboration with PT SCG Indonesia and the ASEAN Secretariat, organised “ASEAN Awareness Raising among Thai Youth” at the ASEAN Secretariat. The activity aimed to raise awareness of ASEAN among Thai students in Indonesia on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN and gathered around 30 Thai students who are currently studying in Indonesia. Participants had an opportunity to listen to the briefings on three topics, namely an overview of ASEAN by Mr. Romeo Jr. Abad Acra, Assistant Director, Community Relations Division, the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN community building and its three Pillars by representatives from the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN and “SCG - A Sustainable Enterprise following the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy” by Mr. Kidakorn Angkanarak, Sustainable Development Director, PT SCG Indonesia. All the sessions were moderated by H.E. Ms. Phasporn Sangasubana, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN.After the briefing, participants discussed and exchanged their views in a brainstorming session entitled “ASEAN in the Next 50 Years: Expectations of the Next Generations”, followed by a visit to the ASEAN Gallery.

    Thai Night in Osaka
    On 15 September 2017, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka organized “Thai Night” on the occasion of the 130th Anniversary of Thailand - Japan Diplomatic Relations. Guests from the government and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, Kansai consular corps, media and friends of Thailand in Kansai were invited to the event which was presided by Mr. Munin Paniswasdi, Consul - General of Thailand in Osaka. H.E. Mr. Yoichi Suzuki, Ambassador in charge of Kansai, and spouse were the event’s guests of honour. The “Thai Night” featured a variety of activities including a reception at Nakanoshima Social Eat Awake Restaurant & Bar during 17.30 - 18.30 hrs. attended by around 200 invited guests, concert of the musical compositions of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej performed by Thai artists, the Bangkok Metropole Band, and a Japanese guest singer, Ms. Akane Nakajima, attended by about 400 audiences, and an exhibition on His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
    The “Thai Night” accomplished its main objectives of paying tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, celebrating the 130th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan Diplomatic Relations, and strengthening Thailand-Japan bilateral relations, especially at people-to-people level.

    Bangkok’s Best Street Food: EAT THAI IN PRAGUE Garden Party at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence
    On 11 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Prague in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Prague Office, and the Thai Trade Office in Prague hosted a Bangkok’s Best Street Food: EAT THAI IN PRAGUE Garden Party at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. The event was held to promote Thai street food which was recognized by the CNN as Thai dishes that you can’t live without. At the event, the Embassy presented authentic Thai dishes, traditional desserts, herbal drinks including Thai fresh coconut juices. A Thai traditional puppet show from Sakorn Thai Puppet together with paper umbrella painting and wellness corner were also there to entertain all the guests. Before the end of the evening, lucky draw took place to giving away prizes and nice Thai souvenirs to the lucky guests.

    Ambassador of Thailand to the Kingdom of Belgium and the officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels participated in networking activities with the Thaismiles VZW and the City of Torhout
    On 9 September 2017, H.E. Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of Thailand to the Kingdom of Belgium and the officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Brussels participated in networking activities with the Thaismiles VZW, which is the Belgian non-profit organization, and the City of Torhout (in Flanders Region), where the Thaismiles VZW is located. Thaismiles VZW carries out the education and HIV/AIDS projects in the northeastern part of Thailand and activities to promote Thailand in Belgium such as Songkran Festival and Loy Kratong Festival with the supports of the City of Torhout. The Ambassador and the Embassy officials were welcomed by Mr. Kristof Audenaert, Acting Mayor of Torhout, the Aldermen of Torhout, Mr. Benny Mareel, Chairman of the Thaismiles VZW, members of Thaismiles VZW, and Mr. Luc Metsdagh, Chairman of the Thai-Flemish Information Center in Koekelare (which has been succeeded by the Thaismiles VZW) at the City Hall of Torhout. The Thaismiles VZW also organized for the Ambassador and the Embassy officials to visit a Sala Thai (Thai Pavilion) in Koekelare, which is one of the tourist attraction of the city, built by the Thai-Flemish Friendship Association in 1989, and the Kinnaree statue in one of the public parks in the city, donated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, as well as hosted lunch for the group.

    Thailand and Kenya celebrates ๕๐th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations
    On 7 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya organized the event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Kenya and the Kingdom of Thailand, at the Hall of Kenya, Nairobi National Museum. Ambassador Monica Juma, Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya and Mr. Worawoot Pongprapapant, Deputy Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand were the co-host of the event. Ambassador Christopher M. Chika, Director of Asia, Australasia and Pacific, Members of the ASEAN Committee in Nairobi, private sector, alumni of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) scholarship programmes, and the Thai community also attended the event.

    Consul-General attended the annual charity event of ISSO International Club Kobe
    On 13 September 2017, Consul-General Munin Paniswasdi attended and delivered his opening remarks at the annual charity event of ISSO International Club Kobe at the Kobe Club with around 70 attendees comprising Japanese and foreign members of ISSO International Club Kobe. The Royal Thai Consulate-General supported the event by arranging Thai traditional dance to perform at the event. The profit gained from this charity event will be donated to students in need in remoted areas of Thailand. In his remarks, the Consul-General commended members of the Club for having organized various charitable and cross cultural activities with a goal of building good relations among peoples of the world. As this year marks the 130th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan Diplomatic Relations, such activities organized by the Club also contribute to the enhancement of the existing close ties of friendship between peoples of Thailand and Japan as well as the foreign community in Japan.
