    On Saturday, 9 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Ottawa in collaboration with the Thai Trade Centre in Toronto, the Office of Agricultural Affairs in Washington D.C., and the Tourism Authority of Thailand in New York, organized the 4th Destination Thailand festival at Yonge-Dundas Square, with a view to promote Thai culture, trade, agriculture, and tourism in the heart of downtown Toronto.

    On 12 September 2017, the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, together with the EU Mission to ASEAN, co-organised the “ASEAN-EU Anniversary Concert” at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta. The Concert is part of commemorative events of the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations, and aims to connect peoples of Southeast Asia and Europe through cultures and music.

    Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal attended the Closing Ceremony of Gunla Dharma Program in Madhyapur Thimi, Pati Bihar
    On 25 August 2017, H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal attended the Closing Ceremony of Gunla Dharma Program at Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, Pati Bihar. More than 100 people including monks, nuns, Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality and villagers attended the Ceremony which aimed to promote Buddhism in the Municipality and express gratitude towards donors of Dharma Desnaa activities during the past month. Ambassador Tanskul gave a brief remarks congratulating the Madhyapur Thimi people on this special occasion and handed over certificates to the donors. The presence of Ambassador Tanskul at this event led to the deepening of people-to-people diplomacy and strengthened collaboration in Buddhism between Thailand and Nepal.

    During 31 August – 2 September 2017, H.E. Mr. Surasak Suparat, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, together with the Embassy staffs visited the State of Goiás to strengthen and promote trade, investment and tourism opportunities between Thailand and the State of Goiás. During the Thai Ambassador visit, he met with H.E. Mr. Marconi Perilo, the Governor of the State of Goiás, Mr. William O’ Dwyer, the Secretary of State of Industry and Trade of Goiás and the entrepreneurs from the Rubber Association of Goiás and Tocantins. Beside, Thailand Gala Dinner in Goiás was also held to promote Thai foods and ingredients as well as Thai tourism to people in Goiás.

    On Monday, 11 September 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasilia organized the ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the Thai national flag. The Ambassador of Thailand led 12 participants, consisting of officials of the Royal Thai Embassy and their families as well as the Thai community in Brasilia, to pay respect to the Thai national flag and sing along the Thai national anthem.

    On 3 September 2017, Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, and Mrs. Kanyaratana Punkrasin, spouse, attended the Brisbane Thai Festival 2017 at the Roma Street Parkland, Brisbane. Ambassador kindly gave remarks at the opening ceremony. The Brisbane Thai Festival is jointly organised by the Royal Thai Embassy, Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General in Brisbane, and Thai-Australian Association of Queensland, which aims to promote Thai tourism and Thai foods as well as to bring Thailand and Australia closer together through appreciation of each other culture. This year’s Festival marks the 5th time we bring Thailand to the heart of Brisbane.

    On 22 August 2017, Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu in collaboration with Hotel Association Nepal and Nepal-Thailand Friendship Co-operation Society organized a Thai cooking demonstration, Exploring Thailand, a Culinary Experience with Master Chefs, at Kumari Hall, Hotel Annapurna. In accordance with the Royal Thai Government’s policy, “Thai Kitchen to the World,” the event aimed to promote the standard in preparing authentic Thai dishes in hotels and restaurants in Nepal. The Embassy invited a group of Thai chefs from Suan Dusit International Culinary School to demonstrate how to cook 4 popular Thai dishes – Golden Cups, Tom Yam Koong, Som Tam and Sen Jan Pad Koong. The event was very well received by 100 participants, the majority of which were chefs from all leading hotels and restaurants in Nepal, local media, and general public. The organization of this event was a solid indication of the increasing popularity of Thai cuisine in Nepal. Therefore, promoting better understanding of Thai cuisine and the original cooking method was another success in propagating stronger presence of Thai cuisine in this country.

    Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu in collaboration with Hotel Yak & Yeti organized Thai Food Gala
    On 18 August 2017, Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu in collaboration with Hotel Yak & Yeti organized Thai Food Gala to widely promote Thai cuisine in Nepal in accordance with the Royal Thai Government’s policy, “Thai Kitchen to the World,” while encouraging a standard preparation of Thai cuisine through imported Thai ingredients. The Embassy invited a group of Thai chefs from Suan Dusit International Culinary School to prepare authentic Thai dinner and perform cooking demonstration of 2 popular Thai dishes: Pad Thai and Som Tam. To showcase Thai culture, the Embassy also invited a group of Thai performers from Bunditpatanasilpa Institute to perform at the event. The Opening Ceremony of Thai Food Gala received great attention from the public and was well attended by more than 300 participants from diplomatic community, and the public and private sector of Nepal. During 19 – 25 August 2017, a Thai buffet corner and Thai cultural performance were also organized at the Sunrise restaurant, Hotel Yak & Yeti to successively promote Thai cuisine and culture.
