    On 4 December 2017, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Vancouver organized a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and Thailand’s Father’s Day at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Vancouver. The opening ceremony was presided by Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Acting Consul-General. On this occasion, Honorable Bruce Ralston, Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, guest of honour, and Mr. Chak Au, Acting Mayor of Richmond, delivered congratulatory speeches and expressed the determination and readiness to further enhance cordial ties and cooperation with Thailand in all fields, particularly on the sustainable development and “Thailand 4.0” policies. This event was well attended by more than 250 dignitaries from the public, private and education sectors of British Columbia as well as consuls-general and members of the consular corps in Vancouver.

    Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw participate in the SHOM International Charity Bazaar 2017
    On 3 December 2017, Royal Thai Embassy in Warsaw opened a booth to sell Thai products and food in the 10th SHOM International Charity Bazaar at the Marriott Hotel which was organized by the Spouses of Heads of Mission (SHOM) at the Marriott Hotel, which is an annual charity event by the cooperation between Diplomatic Corps and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland with the objective to raise funds to help less fortunate people in Poland. SHOM Charity Bazaar is under the honorary patronage of Mrs. Agata Kornhauser-Duda, spouse of the President of the Republic of Poland, who cordially participated in the Bazaar. She also visited and shopped at Thailand’s booth where she was welcomed by H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland and Dr. Tanongsak Sahussarungsi, Spouse of the Ambassador. This year, more than 50 diplomatic missions participated to raise funds for 22 charity organizations such as SOS Children’s Villages, The Ark Children’s Foundation, Children’s Fantasies Fulfilled, Nazareth High School and Red Noses Clowndoctors Poland, etc.

    Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu organized a reception on the occasion of the National Day of Thailand 2017
    On 5 December 2017 at 18.30 hrs., the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu organized a reception on the occasion of the National Day of Thailand to celebrate 3 important events: the Birthday Anniversary of the His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the National Day of Thailand and the Father's Day at Soaltee Crowne Plaza. H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul presided over the opening ceremony of the reception at which the Right Honorable Mr. Nanda Bahadur Pun, Vice President of Nepal participated as Chief Guest. In addition, the reception was also well attended by General Rajendra Chhetri, Chief of the Army Staff of Nepalese Army, high-ranking officials, diplomatic corps, former Ambassadors of Nepal to Thailand, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative as well as Heads of Mission of international organizations in Nepal, representatives from private sector, media and Thai community in Nepal. In total, more than 400 people attended the reception.

    Ambassador of Thailand to Poland gives a presentation on Thailand at Wroclaw University of Economics
    H.E. Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland, attended the 10th Annual International Conference on the Asia-Pacific Region at the Wroclaw University of Economics, Wroclaw, Lower Silesia Province during 19-20 November 2017. As a special speaker by the invitation of the University, her topic of presentation was, “Opportunities and Challenges: Thailand’s Strategy towards Sustainable Development”, following the theme of this year’s conference, which was “The Development Challenges of Asia-Pacific Countries”. Ambassador Sahussarungsi presented on Thailand’s economic potentials and competitiveness as well as gave a briefing on Thailand’s development plan and prospect, according to 20-year National Strategy which integrates the principle of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) as a basis. She also touched upon the policy of Thailand 4.0 which aims to transform Thai economy toward a value-based economy driven by innovation and the project of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) which is considered an important investment zone in Thailand, to be as an example on how Thailand as a country in Asia-Pacific region deals with the changes and challenges of world economy today, leading a way to a stable and sustainable development.

    In order to effectively implement the outcome of the Ninth Meeting of the Thailand-Myanmar Joint Boundary Committee (JBC) held in July 2017 and to jointly discuss work plan of the JBC and its Mechanisms for the coming year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the Meeting of the Secretariat of the JBC on 28 November 2017, co-chaired by Directors of Boundary Divisions of both countries. The issues discussed included the placement of temporary weirs in the Mae-Sai River in Chiang Rai province, part of which forms the common boundary between Thailand and Myanmar, and the application of Technical Guidelines for Construction of Revetments in Moei and Kra Buri rivers.

    Royal Thai Embassy organized the first edition of the causerie cycle of the "ASEAN-plus Circle”
    On 30 November 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy organized the first edition of the causerie cycle “ASEAN-plus Circle” on “Czech Republic after the election: where are things going” at the Royal Thai Embassy. Mr. Vít Dostál, Director of the Association for International Affairs Research Center, joined as our guest speaker. Mr. Dostál is an expert in Czech foreign policy as well as Central and Eastern Europe.
    The informal discussion was attended by several diplomats from ASEAN embassies and embassies of ASEAN’s dialogue partners in Czech Republic. Students from the University of the Economics in Prague also participated in the event. After the session, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted a small reception serving authentic Thai dishes and snacks.

    On 29 November 2017, the Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN attended the ASEAN Face-Off: ASEAN Data Science Explorers, which was organised by the ASEAN Foundation and SAP. The activity provided a forum for university students in ASEAN to express their view on regional issues and challenges, utilizing various analytical and digital tools.
