Mrs. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand hosted a dinner in honour of the delegation 18 members of professors and students from the Institute of Business Economics Research and Development, led by Dr. Sathit Limpongpan, President of the Board, and from the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University at the Ambassador’s residence, on the occasion of the delegation attending the Conference and Business Networking on “The Collaboration on Architecture and Design: Poland and Thailand Co-Creation Program” at the Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw on 7 May 2018.

Ambassador gave presentation on Thailand to the students and participated in a Q&A session which the students actively engaged.

    On 22 May 2018, seven junior high school students from Otsuka Junior High School, Hiroshima, visited the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka on their study tour. The students had an opportunity to learn about the organization and mission of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka. They also received a comprehensive briefing on Thailand and Thailand-Japan relations in various aspects including politics, economics, trade, investment, tourism and culture.

    The Royal Thai Embassy in Prague participated in the 3rd Edition of the Festival of the Embassies: Art and Culture
    On 12 May 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy together with the ASEAN Committee in Prague (ACP), Czech Republic, comprising of the Royal Thai Embassy, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Embassy of Malaysia, Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines and Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, participated in the “3rd Edition of the Festival of the Embassies: Art and Culture” organised by the Prague 6 Office at the Vitezne namesti. The event provided foreign diplomatic missions situated in the Prague 6 area an opportunity to showcase their local food and products. There were participating 46 missions from countries around the world, some of which also staged cultural performances.

The Royal Decorations, namely Knight Grand Cordon (First Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand was bestowed upon Mrs. Nantana Sivakua, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, and Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand was bestowed upon Mrs. Thippawan Supamitkitja, Minister as well as Captain Pitak Niyaso, RTN, Naval Attaché.

    On 16 May 2018, H.E. Mr. Manopchai Vongphakdi, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed a group of Thai Journalists and officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand who are participating in the Journalists Exchange Programme (JEP) organised by Singapore’s Ministry of Communications and Information during 14-17 May 2018. H.E. Mr. Manopchai Vongphakdi gave interview to the Thai journalists on various issues such as investment opportunity for Thai investors in Singapore, Singapore’s ASEAN Chairmanship as well as Singapore as a meeting venue for President Donald Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un. The Journalists Exchange Programme (JEP) is a programme under the Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP) which was started in 1997. Singapore journalists will be travelling to Thailand under the JEP framework in June 2018.

    On 18 May 2018, at 11.18 hrs, H.E. Mr. Manopchai Vongphakdi, Ambassador designate of Thailand to Singapore, together with Mrs. Nitinantana Vongphakdi, Ambassador’s spouse and Heads of Team Thailand in Singapore, attended the official opening ceremony of the first branch of Took Lae Dee restaurant in Singapore at Mapletree Building, Level 1. In this occasion, Ambassador Manopchai cut the ribbon with Mr. Frank Lim, Chairman of Foodland Supermarket Co., Ltd. Took Lae Dee restaurant is famous in Thailand for many decades for its Thai express meals such as Pad Krapow (chicken or pork with chili and basil leaves), Fried Pork with Garlic and Pepper, Pad Thai, Tom Yum. Reasonable and quality is distinctive name of “Took Lae Dee.”

    On 2 May 2018, Mrs. Nantana Sivakua, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Dr. Simon A. Wallace, Thai Honorary Consul-General in Melbourne, attended “Amazing Thailand Roadshow 2018” at Cargo Hall, Showtime South Wharf, Melbourne. Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organizes the said event annually to promote Thai Tourism in Australia. This year, TAT invited 50 representatives of Thai tourism industry to meet with their counterparts in Australia. The Ambassador gave a remark during the opening ceremony.
