    The Opening Ceremony of the Exotic Orchid Exhibition at the Fata Morgana, Prague Botanical Garden
    On 1 March 2018, H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to the Czech Republic, and the ASEAN Committee in Prague (ACP) comprising of five embassies of ASEAN Member States in Prague namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, attended the opening ceremony and press conference of the Exotic Orchid Exhibition at the Fata Morgana, Prague Botanical Garden. More than 150 participants, such as Deputy Mayor of Prague, Czech artists and actors, and more than 70 journalists, were present at the event.

    The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait helped sending Thai workers back home.
    On the 28th February 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy together with the Office of Labour Affairs from Riyadh dispatched 15 Thai workers hired by Kharafi National Company back to Thailand with the support of the assistance fund for Thai workers seeking jobs abroad and the fund raised by the Thai Community in kuwait. Kharafi National Company is going out of business due to lack of cash flow and can no longer pay for the workers' salary. The company has so far abandoned at least 10,000 foreign workers, 27 of which are Thai workers. The Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of Labour Affairs, Riyadh have provided assistance to these Thai workers and repatriated all of them back home. The Embassy will follow up on the indemnities and pending salaries, of these Thai workers.

    Ambassador to Kuwaiti attended the 2nd Bowling Tournament for Scholarship’s students in Kuwait
    On 21 February 2018, H.E. Ambassador Dusit Manapan attended the 2nd Bowling Tournament for Scholarship’s students in Kuwait, organised by the Ministry for Development and Students’ Activities. The tournament was held under the slogan “Kuwait the Country of Peace” at the Capital Center for Bowling Education and Training/Boys. School boys from fourteen countries, including Thailand, participated in the tournament. The objective of this event is to strengthen the friendly ties between school boys in Kuwait. H.E. Ambassador attended the closing ceremony and gave the trophies and medals for the winners. The Ambassador was also interviewed by a local TV station, AlRai TV.

    On 22 February 2018 Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, the Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, on behalf of the Government of Japan, have co-signed on the Exchange of Notes, the Agreed Minutes on Procedural Details and the Record of Discussions to receive the Government of Japan’s Grant Aid on Economic and Social Development in supporting “Counterterrorism and Public Security” measures to the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand in the amount of 200 million Japanese Yen (approximately 60 million Thai Baht). Through this Grant Aid, the Government of Japan will provide the Royal Thai Police with all necessary equipment’s, particularly the Standalone Facial Recognition and Central Facial Matching Systems which will help in an identification of the criminal suspects.

    Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal presided over the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the construction of a new building of Central Blood Transfusion Service (CBTS) of the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS)
    On Friday, 2 March 2018, at 14.00 hrs., the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) organized the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the construction of the new building of Central Blood Transfusion Service (CBTS) of the NRCS on Exhibition Road in Kathmandu. This construction project has received 4 million USD assistance from the Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS) to reconstruct a new building for CBTS which was previously affected by the earthquake in 2015. Participants of the Ceremony from the Thai side were H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal and Commander Dr. Ubonwon Charoonruangrit, M.D., Director of the National Blood Center of the TRCS where as Mr. Sanjeev Thapa, Chairman of the NRCS and Mr. Bidhya Sundar Shakya, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City were the participants from the Nepal side. Additionally, present at the Ceremony were Ms. Wassika Phueaksomon, Director of International Relations Department of TRCS, representatives from Ministry of Health of Nepal and media.

The Thai Gastronomy Week in Brasilia was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasilia and the National Commercial Apprenticeship Service (SENAC) from 27 February to 2 March 2018.

    A Russian business mission headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation visited Thailand.
    Mr. Alexey Gruzdev, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, headed a mission comprising representatives from Russia’s public and private sectors to visit Thailand during 20-22 February 2018. The mission consisted of 92 representatives (14 senior representatives from governmental economic agencies and 78 executives from 51 state enterprises and private companies) and was the largest Russian business mission ever to visit Thailand.
    The Deputy Minister of Economic Development also paid courtesy calls on Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Uttama Savanayana, Minister of Industry, and Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong, Minister of Commerce. He also met with Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment, and Dr. Kanit Sangsubhan, Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office. The visiting Russian companies also had the chance to visit the EEC project in Chonburi and Rayong provinces in order to explore investment opportunities firsthand. They also participated in the Russia-Thailand Business Forum, which included business matching events, at the JW Marriott Hotel in Bangkok.

    On 24 February 2018, Mr. Munin Paniswasdi, Consul-General of Thailand in Osaka, and Ms. Pishayasinee Mulapruk, Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo, attended a historic J1 League match between Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo on the opening week of the 2018 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League season at the EDION Stadium Hiroshima to support two Thai football players, Teerasil Dangda of Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Chanathip Songkrasin of Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo. It was the first J1 League match where 2 Thai compatriots played against each other as the first eleven of their clubs.
