    Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil hosted the 3rd ACB Meeting at the Royal Thai Embassy
    On July 12th 2017 H.E. Mr. Surasak Suparat, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, assumed the position of the Chairman of ASEAN Committee in Brasilia (ACB) during July to December 2017.
    On this occasion, Ambassador Surasakhosted the 3rd ACB Meeting at the Royal Thai Embassy, with attendance of Ambassadors, Chargé d’Affaires, and the ACB Working Group of seven ASEAN member countries in Brasilia, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar,the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam. The Meeting discussed the activities ofthe ACB in the second half of 2017 to enhance the relationship between ASEAN and Brazil as well as to raise the awareness of ASEAN in Brazil.

    “Thai Festival 2017 in Copenhagen” at Havneparken, Islands Brygge in Copenhagen
    On 24 June 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen and the Thai Community in Denmark organized “Thai Festival 2017 in Copenhagen” at Havneparken, Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. During the event, there were variety of cultural performances by members of the Thai Community in Denmark and professional performers and musicians from Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, Ministry of Culture of Thailand. Visitors to the event had opportunity to explore Thainess through Thai food, tropical fruit as well as Thai handicraft. Lucky draws for round-trip tickets Copenhagen-Bangkok sponsored by Thai Airways International was also another highlight of this event. In addition, delegation from the Ministry of Commerce participated in the event to promote new products and innovations from Thai rice, while the delegation from Ministry of Public Health also joined to promote Medical Hub in Thailand. Approximately 10,000 participants took part in the Thai Festival.

    On 27 June 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen in collaboration with the Embassies of Indonesia and Viet Nam organized the ASEAN Cultural Evening at the Thai Residence to showcase ASEAN cultures through food and cultural performances. S this year also marks a 50th Anniversary of ASEAN, the event therefore dedicated to this very special occasion. The event was attended by participants including representatives from the Danish Government, foreign diplomats, businessmen, academics and media. The guests enjoyed a buffet of typical dishes and cultural performances from the ASEAN countries.

    On Sunday, 9th July 2017, Mrs. Sutthiluck Sa-ngarmangkang, Consul-General of Thailand to Vancouver presided over the merit making ceremony on Asarnha Bucha Day and Buddhist Lent Day at Yanviriya Buddhist Temple in Vancouver and Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Deputy Consul General, presided over the merit making ceremony at Budhapanyanantarama Temple in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. On this occasion, members of Thai community and their families from Vancouver, Burnaby and nearby cities participated in the ceremony, which included praying and meditation, the offering of food and various necessities as well as robes and Buddhist Lent candles to be used during the Lent to the monks for good merit making.
