เมื่อวันที่ 25 พฤษภาคม 2552 ฯพณฯ นายเปี่ยมศักดิ์ มิลินทจินดา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงบูดาเปสต์ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์ต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรอง และนำเสนอประเทศไทย ณ โรงแรม Marriott, Budapest เพื่อหาเสียงสำหรับการประมูลสิทธิ์การเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงาน World Tunnel Congress (WTC) 2012 และ 38th ITA-AITES General Assembly ที่กรุงเทพฯ ในปี 2555 ซึ่งผลการตัดสินเมื่อวันที่ 27 พฤษภาคม ปรากฏว่า ประเทศไทยได้รับการคัดเลือกให้ได้รับสิทธิ์การเป็นเจ้าภาพ WTC 2012 และ 38th ITA-AITES General Assembly รายละเอียดสุนทรพจน์ คลิ๊กที่นี่ .... On 25 May 2009, H.E. Mr. Piamsak Milintachinda, Ambassador of Thailand delivered speech and presentation about Thailand at Marriott Hotel, Budapest on the occasion of bid events for hosting World Tunnel Congress (WTC) 2012 และ 38th ITA-AITES General Assembly at Bangkok, Thailand in 2012.
