Thai-Chongqing Media Exchange Program to disseminate information for better understanding: the Chinese media led by Mrs. Fan Qing, Assistant Consultant of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, met with Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Director-General of the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during their visit to Thailand on the media exchange program organized by Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu. Both sides exchanged their opinions on how to further enhance the relations between Thailand and Chonqing, especially on the effort of the Thai government to promote Thailand among Chinese tourists and to prevent them from being deceived by disqualified tourist agencies. Both sides agreed that media would play a crucial role in disseminating accurate and useful information to the tourists. |

President of the Privy Council and Statesman presides over the public announcement of the Prem Tinsulanonda Fellowship Program which was created at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University. This Fellowship Program is jointly contributed by major private sectors of Thailand and the US. The first two Prem Tinsulanonda Fellows will enroll as graduate students in the Southeast Asia Studies Program at SAIS in September 2007. The Fellows are Pavis Devahasadin na Ayudhaya, a graduate of Chulalongkorn University in International Relations, and Pongsiri Voraphongse, a graduate of Thammasat University in Economics and now works at the Bank of Thailand.

Dubai top businessman seeks business opportunity in Thailand: Mr. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Member of Dubai Executive Council and Board of Executive Economic Council of Dubai, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister. Mr. Sultan highly praised His Majesty’s philosophy of sufficient-economy and was so grateful that His Majesty the King granted him an audience.
