On September 19, 2006, Mr. Ittiporn Boonpracong, Deputy Director-General of Department of East Asian Affairs, hosted a luncheon at the Foreign Ministry for a Japanese delegation comprising 26 representatives from Japanese SMEs and training agencies on their visit to Thailand.
The Japanese delegation is in Thailand as part of the project of Team Thailand, consisting of the Royal Thai Embassy in Japan, the Offices of Labor, BOI, and Tourism Authority in Japan. During their visit, the Japanese delegates would conduct a study tour on Thailand?s readiness in the manufacturing sector and learn about Thai cultures and ways of life. Moreover, they are here to provide information on the selection process for the Thai people who are interested in attending training in Japan, as well as to build confidence and understanding among Thai trainees on related regulations in Japan..
In addition, during the visit, the Japanese delegation would be given an opportunity to be acquainted with Thailand?s readiness in infrastructures, Thai skilled-labors, and to be informed of the country?s investment promotion policies, which would place Thailand in an advantageous position for Japan to relocate its SMEs to Thailand.
The visit of Japanese delegation from the training agencies opens up the opportunity for Thai people to be trained in Japan to improve their expertise and skills, which in turn would also increase Thailand?s competitiveness and lead to the development of its human resources. .
