On 19 October 2006, Mr. Nitya Pibulsonggram, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Sawanit Kongsiri, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a reception at Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the Diplomatic Corps based in Thailand, comprising Ambassadors, Consuls-General and Heads of International Organizations.

Ninety-two members of the Diplomatic Corps attended the function, during which the Director-General of Protocol Department introduced them to the Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Senior officials of the Foreign Ministry also participated in the reception.
