Illegal import and export of wildlife and its parts are prohibited and can result in:

1. Imprisonment not exceeding 4 years or a fine up to 40,000 baht or both (Wild Animal Reservation and Protection Act 1992)


2. Shall be liable in section 27 of the Customs Act 1926 to a fine of four times the amount of the price of the goods including duty or imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years, or both.
