On 26 June 2008 Ambassador Kriangsak Kittichaisaree met with Mr. Mohammad Nahavandian, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to discuss cooperation in trade and investment, including trade in halal food, as well as investment in services, infrastructure construction, and the hospitality business.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran will visit Rasht and Isfahan in July and August 2008 to promote trade and investment between Thailand and Iran by organizing seminars on trade and investment opportunities with Thailand at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the two cities. The “Thailand Exhibition 2008” will be held on 10-14 August 2008 in Tehran with more than 40 Thai companies expected to show their products and make business deals with Iranian businessmen.
The Chamber of Commerce of Iran has expressed keen interest in organizing a “Thailand Day” in Tehran to help Iranian businessmen as well as the Iranian public understand more about Thailand and bilateral trade, investment and tourism opportunities.
