On 23 March 2021, H.E. Ms. Nitivadee Manitkul, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brazil, paid a courtesy call on H.E. General Hamilton Mourão, Vice President of Brazil, to discuss cooperation between Thailand and Brazil particularly in defence and economic areas. The two sides agreed to further economic cooperation. H.E. Ambassador invited Brazilian business to invest in target industries of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in areas that Brazil has high potential such as Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG), Aviation (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul: MRO) and agribusiness.

Topics namely Amazon Rainforest and cooperation on forest conservation were also raised with the Vice President in his capacity as the President of the National Council of the Legal Amazon (CNAL). H.E. Ambassador congratulated the Vice President on CNAL’s success in curbing deforestation by 70 percent in January this year compared to last year. Moreover, the two sides also discussed COVID-19 situation and vaccination policies.
