Following the incidents regarding Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500 and the landslides in West Java, on 9 January 2021, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, have sent messages of condolences to their counterparts as follows:

1. Condolence Message from H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand to H.E. Mr. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Excellency,

It is with sadness that I have learned of the tragic incidents regarding Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500 and the landslides in West Java on 9 January 2021, which resulted in loss of lives, injuries and damages to the people of Indonesia.

In this moment of grief, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved families affected by these tragic incidents. I am certain that with your able leadership and the determination of the authorities and people of Indonesia, you will be able to overcome these tragedies and the people’s livelihood will be restored to normalcy very soon.

“Excellency,

I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives caused by the incidents involving Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500 near Jakarta and the landslides at Cihanjuang Village in West Java on 9 January 2021.

I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency and, through you, to the families of those who perished in these tragic incidents. My heart also goes to those injured from the landslides, and I wish them speedy recovery.
