On 2 June 2023, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Bat-Erdene Bat-Ulzii, Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia, co-chaired the Second Meeting of the Consultative Body on Bilateral Cooperation between Thailand and Mongolia in Bangkok.

The Meeting discussed ways to strengthen Thai - Mongolian cooperation in the five areas under the Thailand - Mongolia Five Year Work Plan for Cooperation (2022-2027), namely trade, investment, tourism and culture, agriculture, and technical cooperation. Representatives from line agencies of Thailand, including the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture, and BOI, also participated in the Meeting. The Meeting also discussed preparations to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Mongolia in 2024 through high - level visits and cultural events. With regards to regional and multilateral cooperation, both sides also reiterated their will to continue supporting each other in relevant regional and multilateral frameworks.

The Consultative Body on Bilateral Cooperation between Thailand - Mongolia was established in 2013. The First Meeting was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on 6 September 2018, where both sides agreed to draft the Thailand - Mongolia Five Year Work Plan for Cooperation (2022 – 2027) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the five priority areas. The Work Plan was enforced on 15 August 2022 and will remain effective until 14 August 2027.
