On 7 July 2025, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, participated in the Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANWFZ ExCom) during the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Other Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur.

The Meeting reaffirmed ASEAN’s unity in keeping Southeast Asia free of nuclear weapons, as well as followed up on progress and exchanged views on outstanding issues concerning the signing of the Protocol to the Treaty on the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANWFZ) by the Nuclear Weapon States. It also served to prepare for the tabling of a draft resolution at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and to make arrangements for the Meeting of the SEANWFZ Commission scheduled on 8 July 2025.
