On 10 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference (PMC) with Australia on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur.

The Meeting reviewed the progress of ASEAN - Australia cooperation, following the Special Summit to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Dialogue Relations last year and the Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN - Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership 2025-2029. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues.

Thailand called for strengthened cooperation with Australia in the area of security in all dimensions, especially geopolitical, economic, and human-related. These include support for multilateralism and the rules-based multilateral trading system, and cooperation in cyber security, energy and food security, public health and education.
