On 10 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, attended the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference with New Zealand on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen ASEAN-New Zealand cooperation as well as preparations for the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Relations. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues. Thailand reaffirmed its support for the establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between ASEAN and New Zealand and advocated for strengthened cooperation with New Zealand to create a Community of Peace, Prosperity and Well-being, focusing on cyber security, a rules-based multilateral trading system, public health, education, and the green agenda.
