On 3 October 2019, Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, in her capacity as the Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Public Relations of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation (PMAF), chaired the 2nd Meeting of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation Public Relations Sub-Committee of 2019 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation, Siriraj Hospital, Ramathibodi Hospital, Medical Association of Thailand, National Broadcasting Services of Thailand, Mahidol University, National Electronics and Computer Technology Center, Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Station, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited., MCOT Public Company Limited and True Corporation Public Company Limited. The meeting discussed the preparations for the Prince Mahidol Award Ceremony 2019.

The meeting noted that, on 15 July 2019, H.E. Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United Kingdom, presented the royal flower bouquet of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn,as President of the Board of Trustees of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation, and a flower bouquet of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation to Lady Stella Weatherall, spouse of Sir David John Weatherall, 2001  Prince Mahidol Laureate in the field of Medicine, who passed away on 8 December 2018, at the memorial service at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, England.

On this occasion, the meeting learnt of the progress made on raising public awareness on the Prince Mahidol Award Youth Programme. Awardees of Prince Mahidol the Award Youth Programme Scholarship will receive a one-year scholarship for research study, professional training or community development abroad. This year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand organised a briefing for 5 scholarship recipients prior to their departure for a one-year scholarship in the United States. On this occasion, the 5 scholarship recipients also gave an interview for Ministry’s Saranrom Radio, the show “Lightning Talk with Saisawan Khayanying” as well as to the Lightning Production, broadcasted on Channel 13 Famiy on 12 September 2019 at 07.15 - 07.45 hrs., and the show “NBT Mee Kham Tob” which was, broadcasted on National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) on 23 September 2019 at 10.00 - 11.00 hrs.

In addition, the meeting agreed on the public relations policy during the Prince Mahidol Award Ceremony 2019. This year, the Announcement of the Prince Mahidol Laureates 2019 will be held on 21 November 2019 and the Prince Mahidol Award Ceremony 2019 will be held on 30 January 2020, at Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall.
