On 2 November 2019, H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia, during the 35th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, to enhance bilateral relations and discuss progress in various areas of cooperation, particularly on the promotion of connectivity including the road alignment linking CIQ Sadao - ICQS Bukit Kayu Hitam, development along Thailand-Malaysia border, border security, and bilateral trade.
