Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, together with representatives fromEuropean External Action Service (EEAS), held the 1st Preparatory Meeting for the Thai-EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA).

On 13-14 and 23 July 2021, Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, co-chaired the 1st Preparatory Meeting for the Thai-EU PCA negotiations with Ms. Paola Pampaloni, Deputy Managing Director, Asia and Pacific Department (13-14 July 2021), and Mr. Mark Gallagher, Deputy Head of the Southeast Asia Division (23 July 2021), European External Action Service (EEAS).

The Meeting reflected the substantial progress made in all aspects of Thai-EU relations. Both sides showed flexibility and good faith in discussing the draft PCA. The PCA will serve as the cornerstone for elevating and strengthening cooperation in all areas of common interest based on shared benefits and values, with a view to leading towards strategic partnership between Thailand and the EU.
