Invitation to a Seminar on “Multiplying Strategic Thai Investments in the U.S.” on 14 January 2013

The Royal Thai Embassy in Washington DC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will organize a seminar on “Multiplying Strategic Thai Investments in the U.S.” on 14 January 2013 from 14.30 to 16.30 hrs. at Narathip Auditiorium, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Ayudhya Road.  Participants include policy makers, investors, academics, students and media representatives.

This seminar, which will present findings from a University of Maryland research project commissioned by the Royal Thai Embassy, will be an excellent opportunity for those interested in investing in the U.S. to learn more about which U.S. states and investment sectors are most promising for Thai investors. The University of Maryland research project, which studies investment opportunities in 50 U.S. states, was commissioned specifically to identify potential targets for trade and investment promotion and open up business opportunities for Thai investors in the United States.

The Seminar will be conducted in English by Dr. Chaiyong Satjipanon, Thai Ambassador to the United States. Dr. Sandor Boyson of University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business will present his team’s research findings during the Seminar, and the findings will be complemented by commentary from representatives of the Board of Investment, the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, as well as from Thai academia and private sectors.
