On 12 March 2013, Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, delivered an opening remarks at the seminar on “Thailand’s Trade and Investment Opportunities in Brazil” organised by the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Brasilia at Vimarn Suriya Room, Dusit Thani Hotel. This seminar was aimed at providing information on trade and investment opportunities in Brazil for the Thai private sector, scholars and the Thai public in general with a view to promoting greater economic ties between the two countries.

               The seminar proceeded with presentations by prominent experts on trade and investment in Brazil, namely the Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, the Director of Thai Trade Center in São Paolo, the Director of the SEA-LAC Trade Center as well as the representatives from the Embassy of Brazil and the Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited. Fruitful discussions between attendees from private sector and the speakers also took place at the end of each session. The event was well-attended by approximately 120 participants.
