On 19 July 2013 H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden attended the annual ceremony of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn’s visit to Ragunda, at Chulalongkorn’s Memorial Pavilion in Ragunda. Attendances of the ceremony included General Chetta Thanajaro (main supporter of the building of the Pavilion), Heads of Thai governmental offices in Sweden, Mayor of Ragunda (Mrs. Terese Bengard), Chairman of Bangkok Metropolitan Council and Thai community in Sweden.  

     During this occasion, H.E. Ambassador Somchai gave an opening remark and highlighted the Memorial Pavilion as an important place which has been supported by the Thai government as a memory of H.M. King Chulalongkorn’s visit to Ragunda in 1897 and which founded today’s great relationship between the two countries. H.E. Ambassador Somchai led the Thai side to discuss with the Swedish side for further activities in order to promote the Pavilion to be an important place in Sweden. General Chetta donated an amount of 322,000 SEK for the reservation and repair of the Pavilion.
