The Royal Thai Embassy welcomed and coordinated for the visit to Peru and Colombia of the business delegation from Thailand consisting of the representatives from the leading Thai private associations from Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai Federations of Industries and Thai National Shippers’ Council together with representatives from 27 Thai companies. Led by Mrs. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director General of the Department of International Trade Promotion  between 9 – 16 May 2014, this visit is as part of the business negotiation trip to Latin American region (Brazil, Chile, Peru and Colombia).

During the visit to Peru between 9 -12 May 2014, the Thai business delegation participated in the official programmes including the business matching at the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the briefing on the business and investment opportunities in Peru arranged by public and private institutions (Proinversion and Ernest & Young), the visit to explore the facilities and the administration of DP World, the container port at the Port of Callao. They also had an opportunity to explore market by visiting leading Peruvian Supermarkets and Commercial area for automoparts.

Ambassador Ruengdej Mahasaranond together with the Director General and representatives of 3 Thai private association paid a  courtesy call on  Mrs. Magali Silva, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru and Mr. Edgar  Vasquez, Vice Minister. They also had meeting with  Mr. Guido F. Loayza, Director General of the Economic Promotion Department from the Ministry of External Relations of Peru. Ambassador Ruengdej Mahasaranond also hosted a dinner in honor of the delegation on the 10 May 2014 at the Ambassador’s residence.

For the visit to Bogota, Colombia, the Thai Business Delegation held meetings with Trade agencies of Colombia including the Ministry of Foreign Trade, Industry and Tourism (MINCIT) , ProExport Colombia. Welocomed by the Thai Honorary Consul in Colombia, the delegations participated in the official programme including the business matching, the briefing on the business and investment opportunities in Colombia arranged by Pricewaterhouse and  the meeting with  the Asociacion Colombiana de Vehiculos Automotes. They also had an opportunity to explore market by visiting Colombian Supermarkets and Commercial area and held meeting with their trade partners.
