In response to media enquiries about the recent development on the relationship between the United States and Cuba, Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Director-General of the Department of Information and the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, made the following comments:
“Thailand welcomes the recent decision by the United States and Cuba to begin the process towards normalizing their relationship. This is a positive development that will benefit the two countries and their peoples. Thailand hopes that this decision would lead to further steps towards the full normalization of the relationship through mutual effort of both countries.”
