On 1 May 2015, H.E. Mr. Mun Song Mo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
H.E. Mr. Mun expressed his congratulations on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the DPRK this year. He reiterated the invitation from the DPRK government for the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs to lead a goodwill delegation, including a cultural troupe from the Department of Fine Arts, to visit the DPRK in May 2015, as part of the two countries’ joint efforts to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, and to further promote people-to-people exchanges and understanding.
The Deputy Foreign Minister accepted the abovementioned invitation. He also expressed his view that peace and security in the Korean Peninsula is of common interest to the East Asian region and that Thailand hopes all parties involved will engage in constructive dialogues to address this issue.
