The Royal Thai Police has determined that portions of an interview by Pol. Lt. Col. Thaksin Shinawatra may adversely affect the security and reputation of Thailand.  In addition,  the said matter is currently being investigated under Sections 112, 326 and 328 of the Criminal Code and Sections 14 (3) (5) of the Computer-related Crime Act B.E. 2550 (2007).  Thai security agencies subsequently proposed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consider taking appropriate action within its authority.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers that the allegations are cause for the revocation of passports, pursuant to Section 21(4) and Section 23(3) of the Regulation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Issuance of Passport B.E. 2548 (2005). Thus, passports no. U957441 and Z530117 belonging to Pol. Lt. Col. Thaksin Shinawatra, have been revoked on 26 May 2015.
