Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates to visit Thailand

          His Highness Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates will pay an official visit to Thailand during 11 - 12 May 2016 to co-chair the 1st Meeting of Joint Commission on Economic, Trade and Technical Cooperation between Thailand and the UAE, and to hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. During his visit, His Highness will also pay a courtesy call on H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand.

          Both sides will discuss issues of mutual interest at bilateral and multilateral levels such as trade and investment, energy, education, tourism and culture, and labour. Afterwards, there will be a signing of the Agreed Minutes and Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates. 

          The United Arab Emirates is one of Thailand’s top trading partners in the Middle East and biggest supplier of crude oil. Furthermore, Thailand is among the top destinations for UAE tourists for tourism and medical treatment. In 2015, over 100,000 UAE tourists travelled to Thailand, making up the largest number of tourists from the region.
