On 27 January 2017, the Right Honorable Alok Sharma, Minister for Asia and the Pacific of the United Kingdom, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to discuss strengthening Thailand – United Kingdom relations on the occasion of his visit to Thailand. 

 

Both sides agreed to establish joint working groups on sectors of mutual interest and recognized that the Thailand – United Kingdom Strategic Dialogue will be essential to enhancing bilateral relations. The mechanism of the Business Leadership Council, which will be held in London in April 2017, is expected to help promote trade and investment, as well as the trade mission, and enhance economic cooperation to the next level.
