On 13 August 2018, Ambassador Nantana Sivakua, together with Heads of Team Thailand in Canberra and Embassy’s officials, attended a reception to celebrate the 51st Anniversary of the Establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra.

           The said event was hosted by the Heads of Mission of ASEAN Canberra Committee (ACC). Mr Sisavath Inphachanh, Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic delivered the opening remarks as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra. Senator the Hon Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, Minister for International Development and the Pacific, as the honourable guest, also delivered a speech congratulating this special occasion.  Participants included representatives from ASEAN Member States, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of government and private sectors, academics and leading business people in Australia.
