On 18 August 2018, Consul-General Munin Paniswasdi attended and delivered his congratulatory remarks at Thai Fair Akashi organized during 18-19 August 2018 at Akashi Castle Park in Akashi City by a group of Japanese people who love Thailand with Mr. Junichi Ebisuoka as Chairman of the Organizing Committee. 

          The event was held to strengthen the ties of friendship between Thai and Japanese peoples through cultural exchange activities and to join in celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Akashi City, the 400th Anniversary of Akashi Castle, and the 150th Anniversary of Hyogo Prefecture. 

          A variety of Thailand-related activities were offered at the two-day Thai Fair Akashi including Thai and Japanese cultural performances on stage, Muay Thai demonstration, and booths selling Thai food and Thai products. Several attendees were impressed by Thai fruit and vegetable carving demonstration as well as Thai flower arrangement demonstration organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka.

          The Thai Fair Akashi, held for the first time, was warmly welcomed by local residents, several thousands of whom attended the event.
