On 19 August 2018, Ambassador Nantana Sivakua, together with Ms. Thippawan Supamitkitja, Minister and Mr. Vathayudh Vichankaiyakij, Minister Counsellor, attended the Australia-Thailand Association (Canberra) – ATA “Mid-Winter Lunch” at Thai Urban Restaurant. More than 60 guests participated in this event namely Mrs. Natsuda Pittman, President of ATA, Ms. Annette Ellis, Australian Patron of the Association, the ATA Committee Members, and Thai community in Canberra. Participants also enjoyed Thai classical music performed by a group of Thai children in Canberra, whose training was sponsored by the Embassy.

            On this occasion, the Ambassador thanked ATA for its active role in promoting friendships among the Thais and Australians for more than 40 years as well as its continued support for the Embassy’s activities. The close and cordial relations between the two countries was reflected in the successful search and rescue operation of the Thai youth soccer team at Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai Province in which the Australian divers and officers played a key role in the operation.
