On 31 January 2019, Sweeya Santipitaks, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, attended the 7th International Conference on Aluminium and Exhibition (INCAL-2019) and addressed the conglomeration of aluminium experts. This prestigious conference on aluminium was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
The conference was organized by the Aluminium Association of India (AAI) from 31 January to 2 February 2019 under the aegis of Ministry of Mines, Government of India, with an aim to bring the international aluminium fraternity together on the same panel and encourage industrial development. The event provided a mega platform and an occasion to exchange ideas on the latest technological advances, challenges and opportunities in the aluminium sector via extensive B2B meetings and more.
Thailand is an exporter of industrial aluminium and aluminium-related products to India. The Thai-Indian bilateral trade value in aluminium sector has witnessed a 50% increase in January to November 2018 (valued at 111.27 million US dollars), in comparison with the corresponding period in 2017 (74.4 million US dollars).
