               We welcome the meeting between United States (US) President Donald Trump and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un on 30 June 2019 at the DMZ on the Korean Peninsula. We hope that negotiations between the US and the DPRK will resume soon to attain progress and maintain the momentum in finding a lasting solution in the Korean Peninsula. ASEAN stands ready to play a constructive role in contributing to such efforts.
