On 17 March 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Acting Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Thailand.
Both sides discussed ways to advance bilateral cooperation, particularly through the exchange of high-level visits, the convening of a Strategic Dialogue, the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), and efforts to advance negotiations on a Thailand - United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (FTA). They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and its repercussions for both Thailand and the United Kingdom.
