On 16 - 20 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Kallayana Vipattipumiprates, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a visit to Myanmar, where he held meetings with H.E. Mr. Khin Yi, Speaker of the People’s Assembly of Myanmar; H.E. Mr. Min Min, Deputy Union Minister of Commerce of Myanmar; H.E. Mr. Ko Ko Kyaw, Deputy Union Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar; and Mr. Hau Khan Sum, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across different dimensions, especially border security, cross-border trade, and transnational crime, such as online scams and narcotics, water and air pollution, as well as cooperation in economic and development matters and close people-to-people relations. They also exchanged views on ways to promote relations between ASEAN and Myanmar, with Myanmar expressing support for Thailand’s constructive role as a bridge between Myanmar and ASEAN.
