On 28 - 29 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat) in Cebu, the Philippines, at the invitation of H.E. The AMM Retreat is the first gathering of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers under the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship for 2026. The Ministers will discuss the direction of ASEAN’s work this year under the Chair’s theme “Navigating our Future, Together,” including key areas of cooperation that will advance the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. The Meeting will also follow up on the outcomes of the 47th ASEAN Summit held in October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and exchange views on key regional and international developments of relevance to ASEAN.

The Philippines will also convene the Extended Informal Consultation on the Implementation of the Five-Point Consensus to discuss ASEAN’s continued efforts to address the situation in Myanmar.
