On 8 April 2021, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, participated in the ASEAN-UK Open-Ended Troika Meeting via video conference. H.E. Mr. Dominic Raab, Foreign Secretary of the UK, joined the meeting with representatives of ASEAN Member States.

The meeting discussed steps towards enhancing ASEAN-UK relations and cooperation in the areas of public health emergencies to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, resilient and sustainable economic recovery, and climate change. In this regard, Thailand emphasised the importance of equitable access to and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and encouraged the UK to work with ASEAN on the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model as a means to achieve a more sustainable and resilient future.
