On 28 November 2025, the Department of ASEAN Affairs welcomed 22 youth participants from ASEAN Member States from the “ASEAN Youth Camp for Sustainable Development: Promoting a Network of Youth in ASEAN for the SDGs,” which took place between 24–28 November 2025. Mrs. Chatvadee Chindawongse, Deputy Director-General of the Department, delivered the closing remarks and emphasized the role of youth in driving change towards a sustainable future.
The ASEAN Youth Camp for Sustainable Development is one of Thailand’s initiatives as the ASEAN Coordinator for Sustainable Development Cooperation. It was first organized in 2023 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in collaboration with the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) and Mahidol University, to empower youth in promoting sustainable development and to support network-building and cooperation among youth across ASEAN. This year marked the third edition of the Camp, with special support from the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO).
Throughout the one-week programme, all 22 youth representatives engaged in activities designed to enhance their understanding of best practices in implementing the SDGs. These activities included lectures, brainstorming sessions, and field visits to SDG-related best practices in Rayong Province, such as the Pak Nam Prasae Community and the PTTLNG "Miracle of Nature" Exhibition. Moreover, on the final day of the programme, the youth representatives presented the knowledge they had gained throughout the week, along with their recommendations across five thematic areas (the 5 Ps): People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership.
