On 22 September 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, met with Mr. Riley Barnes, Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Both sides welcomed the close relations between Thailand and the United States and exchanged views on cooperation to combat online scams and on human rights issues, such as freedom of expression and labour rights. The U.S. side expressed readiness to share best practices and provide technical cooperation on legal matters related to these issues with Thailand.
