On 23 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a pull-aside meeting with H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen Thailand - Egypt cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, education, and culture as well as cooperation in the context of ASEAN. They also reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation between Thailand and partner countries in Africa under the Thailand - Africa Initiative, with Egypt serving as a key partner.

Both sides also agreed to convene the 3rd Meeting of the Thailand - Egypt Joint Commission (JC), to be co-chaired by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both sides, with Thailand serving as host.
