Buakaew Brew by APCD – new café at MFA now open at MFA!

On 14 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Tej Bunnag, Chairman of Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD), presided over the opening ceremony of Buakaew Brew by APCD, a new café at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Also present at the ceremony were Mr. Piroon Laismit, Executive Director of Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability, Mr. Masami Akiyama, President of Thai Yamazaki Company, and the executives of the Ministry.

“Buakaew Brew by APCD” is the joint initiative of the Ministry and APCD to promote inclusive business in line with the Thai Government’s “leave no one behind” policy and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). APCD is a foundation under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to provide training in the bakeries and drinks business to people with disabilities so they can support themselves financially.

From 15 February 2024 onwards, Buakaew Brew by APCD is ready to serve coffee, beverages and pastries for the Ministry’s staff as well as the visitors and members of the diplomatic corps. The business model operates in accordance with the concept of Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG).
